The 2014 Men’s Casual Look: Here’s How To Pull It Off

We all spend a lot of time in casual clothing, and although some of us still manage to look cool and fashionable, this goal is rarely achieved by all. Sometimes casual clothes can make you appear scruffy or ungroomed, and this is obviously something you want to avoid at all costs. No matter how stylish you think you seem in those Nike joggers, you could be one of those people who gets it wrong all the time without realising, and that’s exactly why it’s important for you to read and digest all the information in this post.

I’m certainly not a fashion expert by any standards, but I’ve worked in the makeover industry for many years, and so I’ve learned a thing or two about the casual look and how to achieve it. We have some really nice ranges out this year, so it would be a shame if you all continued wearing that old t-shirt with the holes in thinking you look fine – believe me, you don’t.

With all this in mind, take a few minutes to read through the tips below, and you should come away with a better understanding of what you can do to appear well kept, whilst still remaining comfortable.

Joggers / Sweatpants

As I just mentioned, you’ll want to throw away all those joggers you’ve kept in your wardrobe for the last ten years, or at least save them for when you don’t have company. Even so, there’s nothing wrong with replacing them with new designs from some of the high street’s most respected men’s clothing stores. You should notice the difference immediately. So, you’ll effectively look smart in casual clothes. Now that’s a contradictory sentence if I ever read one.

Jumpers / Sweatshirts

There aren’t many items of clothing that go well with joggers, and so you’ll want to leave everything but your t-shirts and sweatshirts at home. If you haven’t bought any new ones over the last couple of years, it might be worth opting to check out the new comfortable and warm sweatshirts from the Friend or Faux range or another highly anticipated release from a similar clothing expert.

Trainers / Shoes

If you only remember one piece of advice from this page, the following must be it. Never, in any circumstance, no matter how desperate the situation may be, should you wear shoes with joggers. Trainers were made for a reason, and that was to stop you from looking like a fool when walking around in sweatpants. You’ll do well to remember that. While you might think shoes don’t look that bad, everyone who sees you walking down the street will oppose that standpoint.

Hats / Accessories

You should obviously feel free to accessorise with stylish watches or anything else you may have lying around at home. However, if you really want to turn heads and make an impression with the casual look, you’ll need to get some of those American flat-peak caps. You might look a little bit like a baseball nut, but they’re most definitely at the forefront of casual fashion at the moment.

So there it is guys, now you know exactly how to ensure you get the casual look right this year. Just remember what I said about shoes and joggers; otherwise people may shout to over to jog your memory.

See you next time!
