Making Time For Fitness

One of the biggest excuses that people make for not getting enough exercise is that they don’t have time. However, the truth is that if fitness is important to you then you are going to make time for it, especially considering that workouts need not be long to be effective and you can sneak some workouts into your daily routine in all sorts of ways. Let’s take  look at some of the easiest ways to fit fitness into your busy schedule.

Limit TV Time – Or At Least Get Active As You Watch

As much as we all like to claim that we literally do not have a spare minute in the day that can be used to exercise, if we actually calculated how much time we spend watching TV or just aimlessly flicking channels then most of us would be surprised! If you cut down on your screen time then you will suddenly have a free thirty minutes that can be spent working out! If you can’t reduce the time in front of the television then you can at least get active while you watch. Start off my running on the spot during commercial breaks and gradually work in some extras like squats or sit ups as you watch. One of my favourites is to use my step to do step ups while I watch television.

Have An Active Social Life

A great way to get more time to workout is to make it part of your social life. Instead of meeting friends for lunch, why not suggest a yoga class, or a walk around the lake instead? If you have a date night in your diary, then instead of going to dinner choose to go dancing or ice skating. There are lots of active activities that can be very social including roller-blading, golf, climbing and so much more.

Hit It Hard & Fast

When you are short on time, you need to make the most of it! Put together a short, but high intensity routine that you can blast through in 20 minutes to get the maximum pay off in the shortest amount of time.

Make a Plan

One of the biggest reasons why fitness regimens are so time consuming is that you have to spend time planning not only your workouts, but also the nutritional aspect as well. After all, there is no point it making time to workout if you are not eating healthily as well. Planning it all in advance makes it easier to schedule fitness as part of your daily routine. If this planning stage is a problem that you feel you have then it is well worth checking out some of the pre-set programs that are available. A good example of this type of package could be the Beach Body range. You can get a better idea of what these packaged include by taking a look at a couple of  21 Day Fix Reviews, but they tend to include an eating plan complete with menus and also an exercise plan that is all laid out and ready to go.

Work Out When You Wake Up

The majority of people find that demands on their time only increase as they go through their day. It makes sense to get your workout out of the way as early as possible so that you have it done and dusted before people start demanding your time and attention. It is also a great way to set you up for the day ahead as it is going to really energise you. Often people who workout in the morning feel that they are more productive for the rest of the day!

These are just a few of the ways that you can try to make time in your day to focus on your fitness. It’s all about letting go of those excuses and finding a way to do. Make yourself a priority for once and your body will thank you!
