Getting Back To High School Skinny

Getting Back To High School SkinnyHigh school may or may not have been the happiest time in your life, but chances are it was when you were at your skinniest. The freshmen 15 you inevitably gain in college quickly becomes the post college 40 as your metabolism sinks to abysmal levels. As disheartening as it all is, it’s not hopeless. If you make some changes in your life, you’ll be on your way to high school skinny in no time.

Feed Your Body Properly

The food you put inside your body is directly related to how you look on the outside. Fresh foods and portion control are the biggest factors in losing the excess weight. Sugars and carbohydrates are converted to fat, so cut as much as possible out of your diet. Processed foods are especially heavy with sugars and carbohydrates, even in products you wouldn’t expect.

For quick meals, dedicate one night to cooking freezable extras. Instead of three traditionally large meals, go for five smaller meals. Snacks should be kept to healthy alternatives like pretzels, nuts, and veggies. Smoothies can combine your daily intake of some fruits and vegetables while adding healthy yogurt and lightly sweetening with honey.

Water is Vital

Steer clear of juices and sodas that are high in sugar. Even diet sodas with alternative sweeteners are contributors to weight gain. Instead, stick to water. Water is necessary for any number of bodily functions, including your metabolism. Water also works to collect toxins from your body. Often times, hunger pains are confused with dehydration so remember to drink water throughout the day. You can flavor water by adding fruits and vegetables which also help remove toxins while providing extra nutritional value.

Add Supplements

Supplements improve results and help speed up the process. Look for supplements with resveratrol, coix seed, hoodia, and polyphenols, all of which are found in Healthy Trim Green Tea Extract. Always look for doctor recommended products. Supplements should contain vitamins and herbs that have been proven to improve metabolism and reduce hunger.

Get Your Exercise

As much as we’d all love to eat our way to skinny, it’s just not possible. If you want to get your old shape back you’re going to have to do exercise. Whether it’s on a treadmill or the trail in the park, cardiovascular exercise will get your heart pumping and your metabolism working. If traditional running or walking isn’t something that interests you, try aerobic classes like Zumba. Many classes are available to focus on weight lifting that incorporate music so you’re not just moving from machine to machine in a gym. Find special exercises that target the areas that need the most focus. Crunches are great for tummies while lunges help the buttock and thighs. Find a system that works for you and make sure you’re working out at least four times a week. If you make it fun, it won’t seem like such a chore.

How much weight you lose is up to you and the amount of work you’re willing to put into it. Your improved health will not only benefit you but will encourage those around you to make the same healthy decisions. Weight loss will improve your confidence and overall can improve your mental well being in the process.
