If you want a gorgeous smile, there are some really easy things you can try to get one. I’m sure your smile is lovely already, but we can always make improvements, right? Try these suggestions to see if you can make your smile look even more beautiful that it does already:
Exfoliate Your Lips
If you have dry, cracked skin on your lips, they’re not going to look very healthy. The look you should be going for is ‘kissable’, so invest in a lip exfoliant to help you. Lush do some really yummy tasting lip exfoliants, but you can make your own at home with things like brown sugar and coconut oil. You could even use an old toothbrush. Don’t let dead skin build up and definitely don’t pick it off!
Try a New Lip Colour
Perhaps you need a new lip colour to make your smile stand out. Do some research on your eye colour, skin colour, and hair colour to see what will make it all stand out and look amazing. Some colours will wash you out, so it helps for you to know what suits you and what doesn’t. Make sure you apply your lipstick with a brush, as you get a much more accurate application this way. After applying, I like to blot then apply again for lasting colour. It’s always best to exfoliate as outlined above and then use a small amount of lip balm to prepare your lips for lipstick. If you’ve chosen to go for bold lips, make sure you don’t go OTT with your eye makeup. This will distract from your gorgeous smile!
Practice Using Lip Liner
Lip liner can help the lips to look fuller and stop your lipstick from bleeding out of the lines. Keep yours sharp and practice using it for the best results. Don’t overdraw your lips if you can help it – unless you’re very clever, you can tell and it looks silly.
Whiten Your Teeth
White teeth are probably the most important part of any smile. Teeth whitening can be done at home, or in a salon. It depends on the treatment, who’s doing it, and how much you want to spend. I like trying out different home treatments. Many of them work wonders and are affordable.
Play With Contour and Highlights
Contouring and highlighting is a good way to create cheekbones and a slimmer face, but it can also help you to create fuller looking lips. Highlighter on the top lip helps it to stand out, while contour on the bottom makes it look fuller. Have a practice and see what you come up with. A dab of lip gloss can also help them to stand out.
Practice Smiling in the Mirror
Practice smiling in the mirror so you know how you look when you pull certain faces. Get used to your angles and the smile you like best, so you know exactly what to do when somebody pulls out a camera.
Have fun experimenting – see you next time!
