My Favourite Wedding Beauty Tips

Weddings are such an emotional and wonderful time – I just love putting in lots of effort and getting dressed up! There are some beauty tips I swear by too, you know, so you look wedding ‘appropriate’. It isn’t like getting dressed up for a night out! As wedding season is upon us, here are some of my favourite wedding beauty tips – they might even be suitable for the blushing bride!

Wear Waterproof Makeup

Whether you’re the bride or a guest, I highly advise you wear waterproof makeup for the day. You may not think of yourself as a crier, but weddings are highly emotional. You might start blubbing when you least expect it, and the last thing you need is mascara running all down your face. Invest in some waterproof bits and make sure you take a little with you so you can top up if you need to.

Wear a Special Perfume

Weddings are a time for smelling luxurious and expensive, especially if you’re the blushing bride! Splashing out on some luxury perfume might be alien to you, but what better time to do it than your wedding day? People will be coming up to you and congratulating you all day, so make sure they think you smell amazing. If you’re a guest, pick something long lasting!

Invest in Gel Fingers/Toes

Gel fingers and toes are a godsend. No need to worry about chips! Nervous brides might find themselves chewing on their nails, and gel polish will resist chipping. It’s also a great idea if you’re going straight on your honeymoon. It can be a nice idea to keep a running theme. If there were silver wedding invitations, why not choose silver nail polish? It’s a fun and quirky way to accessorize your wedding outfit!

Experiment With Hair Styles

A wedding day calls for a special hairstyle. Something that you haven’t tried before, or that you don’t do very often. Experiment with different styles to find something that suits your dress and makeup. Usually, hair ups are recommended, as weddings can mean a long day. This will stop you having to mess with your hair too much, and it should stay in place!

Make Your Skin Glow

Glowing skin looks best at weddings, so make sure you choose a nice, subtle false tanner if you’re pale skinned. If you’re darker, all you need to do is dust over a little shimmer or bronzer to give yourself a pretty sheen.

Make Your Hair Shine

Shiny hair looks healthy, especially in all of those wedding pictures. Make sure you prep it properly before styling, and once it’s finished spritz with a good shine spray. Be careful you don’t use too much, as it can begin to look greasy.

Use these tips and you’ll look wedding party perfect in person and in pictures. If you have any tips of your own that you’d like to share, feel free to leave a comment below!
